Class MA prior approval change of use from commercial to residential, Hamilton Square Conservation Area (August 2024)

Acted as planning consultant and agent for a successful prior approval Class MA application to change the use of vacant office floor space to 11 flats on Argyle Street in the Hamilton Square Conservation Area. The proposal changes the use of the upper floors to residential whilst retaining the ground floor and basement in commercial use within this end of terrace property.


Liaised with noise and daylight consultants to provide technical information to support the application and the client regarding drawings. Alongside this co-ordination role, I produced a Supporting Statement to demonstrate how the proposals complied with relevant requirements of Class MA Prior Approval.


Liaised with the planning case officer and responded to their queries and clarifications to obtain the granting of Prior Approval for the change of use.
